 funding bodies emphasises more than ever that engineers and scientists are
  required to focus their work to positively drive economic growth by facin
 g the challenges of scaling emerging technologies and bridging the "valley
  of death".\n\nRecent fundamental research will be presented in polymeric 
 microstructure control\, self-assembled hydrogel formation and inkjet rese
 arch and an approach is discussed to combine scientific challenges with a 
 broader view of environment-relevant supply chain and policy drivers.\n
