DESCRIPTION:I will describe recent developments in relativistic\nhydrodyna
 mics inspired in part by the fluid/gravity correspondence.  I will focus o
 n general lessons for the hydrodynamic effective field theory: signature o
 f quantum anomalies\, domain of validity of hydrodynamics\, etc.. Time per
 mitting I will also attempt to extract\nsome lessons about gravity: in par
 ticular\,  clarify the connections between the black hole membrane paradig
 m and the fluid/gravity correspondence.
