DESCRIPTION:Silicon is a promising material for building solid-state spin
qubits due to its low spin-orbit coupling and a high abundance of spin-zer
o nuclei in the crystal. In this talk I will discuss measurements of the t
wo-electron singlet and triplet spin states in a Si/SiGe double quantum do
 t. These states form the basis for a logical qubit that combines fast mani
pulation and a spin readout mechanism. Readout of the states employs Pauli
spin blockade to perform spin-to-charge conversion\, combined with single
-shot detection of the charge state using a nearby quantum-point-contact.\
