DESCRIPTION:Unitary operators form a world of their own. Empirical process
es\, and to parametric empirical processes\, are\, on the other hand\, wel
l defined\, well studied and unequivocal objects\, with developed asymptot
ic theory as they are. However\, applying unitary operators to empirical p
rocesses leads to new type of processes with interesting and useful asympt
otic properties.\n\nIn this way we are able to obtain asymptotically distr
ibution free\nprocesses in R^d for testing hypothesis.\n\nThe approach ext
ends to the case of discrete distributions\, so that we now have a class o
f asymptotically distribution free goodness of fit tests\, and not only on
 e such test -- the chi-square test.
