DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will draw on research over several decades in
to the use of digital technologies to enhance the teaching and learning of
mathematics in order to pull out what I see as some common messages. Man
y have shown\, for example\, that the teacher’s role is crucial\, so pro
fessional learning must be a central component of any innovation with digi
tal technologies. But how exactly should this be organized and managed?
As a step towards answering this question\, I will present examples from m
y own ongoing research that has as its goal the scaling and sustainability
  of research-based interventions.
