DESCRIPTION:The similar relic abundances of the ordinary and the dark matt
 er suggest that they may have arisen via related mechanisms. In the asymme
 tric dark matter proposal\, the dark-matter density is due to an asymmetry
  in a dark particle number conserved at low energies. The dark asymmetry i
 s established in the early universe by processes which relate it dynamical
 ly to the ordinary baryonic asymmetry. The asymmetric dark matter scenario
 \nmotivates a rich dark sector with interesting phenomenology. I will disc
 uss the essential ingredients of asymmetric dark matter models\, and poten
 tial\ncosmological and astrophysical implications.
