 hat it be 'locally small'. But what if we want more structure on the hom-s
 ets? For instance\, in the category of abelian groups the hom-sets also ha
 ve an abelian group structure. The abstract development of these notions l
 eads to the concept of enrichment\, and monoidal categories provide the mo
 st basic scenario.
