DESCRIPTION:This will be a tutorial talk about constructing codes for dist
 ributed compression\, also called the "Slepian-Wolf" model. In this model\
 , Alice the encoder wants to send a compressed version of her sequence X t
 o Bob the decoder who has a correlated sequence Y. This problem has found 
 application in several areas such as video coding\, file synchronisation a
 nd sensor networks. After reviewing the information-theoretic result\, I w
 ill describe how to construct codes for this model  using cosets of linear
