DESCRIPTION:Some entrepreneurs spot opportunities pertaining to current ne
 eds and trends\, while others go on to create opportunities regarding futu
 re needs and problems. The latter may disrupt whole industries or even giv
 e rise to new ones when successful. In this session\, we are going to cons
 ider topics around the (co-)creation of new opportunities and how entrepre
 neurs can engage in such action.  \n\nThe guest speakers are Jack Lang and
  Eben Upton\, the co-founders of *Raspberry Pi* the enormously successful 
 ultra-low cost computer designed to help teach kids programming.\n\nJack L
 ang is Co-Founder and Chair of the Raspberry Pi Foundation. He is a serial
  entrepreneur and business angel\, and Co-Founder of Artimi\, which is mak
 ing the next generation of ultra wide band wireless chips. Interested in '
 computer science and how the brain works'\, his undergraduate degree in Me
 chanical Sciences at Cambridge led to a Computer Science diploma and a spe
 ll as Demonstrator in the Computer Laboratory.\n\nHe left the University t
 o found (with Professor Shon FfowcsWilliams) the consulting company Topexp
 ress\, one of whose projects was designing some of the software for the BB
 C Microcomputer. Jack was Founder of Netchannel\, which was acquired in 19
 98 by NTL\, where he became Chief Technologist. Before that he founded Ele
 ctronic Share Information\, acquired by E-Trade in 1995. Jack Lang is Dire
 ctor of Studies in Management at Emmanuel College. He is author of The Hig
 h Tech Entrepreneurs Handbook\, and teaches and examines courses in busine
 ss studies\, entrepreneurship and e-commerce for the University of Cambrid
 ge Computer Science Laboratory. He is Entrepreneur in Residence at the Cen
 tre for Entrepreneurial Learning and a ByFellow at Emmanuel College. \n\nE
 ben Upton is co-founder of the Raspberry Pi Foundation\, and serves as CEO
  of Raspberry Pi (Trading) Ltd\, which is responsible for the Foundation's
  commercial and technical activities. In an earlier life\, he founded two 
 successful mobile games and middleware companies\, Ideaworks 3d Ltd and Po
 dfun Ltd\, held the post of Director of Studies for Computer Science at St
  John's College\, Cambridge\, and was co-author of The Oxford Rhyming Dict
 ionary along with his father. He holds a BA in Physics and Engineering\, a
  PhD in Computer Science\, and an Executive MBA\, from the University of C
