DESCRIPTION:One of the original motivations for the development of stochas
tic partial differential equations traces it's origins to the study of tur
bulence. In particular\, invariant measures provide a canonical mathematic
al object connecting the basic equations of fluid dynamics to the statisti
cal properties of turbulent flows. In this talk we discuss some recent res
ults concerning inviscid limits in this class of measures for the stochast
ic Navier-Stokes equations and other related systems arising in geophysica
l and numerical settings. This is joint work with Peter Constantin\, Vladi
 mir Sverak and Vlad Vicol.\n
