DESCRIPTION:After 5 years of depression and unemployment\, this crisis wil
l be remembered not by how hard it hit us but by how long it lasted. Indee
d\, the economic recovery remains a light far far away at the end of a tun
nel.\n\nHow have we reached this point ? What are the historical factors t
hat lead us here ?\n\nCan modern day policy makers learn from past experie
nce in confronting these challenges ? How did we adress similar situations
in the past ?\n\nIn this exceptional lecture\, Prof. Crafts and Dr. Solom
ou\, two of the most renowned economic historians of our time\, will repla
ce the current crisis in historical perspective\, adress whether historica
l comparisons are relevant and try to discern lessons from past experience
in our economic history for the current situation. \n\nThe event is free\
