DESCRIPTION:The compressive mechanical strength of the polymer bonded expl
osive EDC37 has been studied over a wide range of strain rates (10-8 to 10
 +3 s-1 at 298 K) and temperatures (208 to 333 K at 10-3 s-1). The results
reveal that the response of EDC37 is dominated by the viscoelastic propert
ies of its binder system. An empirically derived expression will be presen
ted that quantifies the equivalence of changes in strain rate and temperat
 ure.
