DESCRIPTION:A system satisfy a logarithm law if the time which is needed t
o hit a small target scales as the inverse of the measure of the target.\n
This kind of laws\, related to the occurrence of a rare event are also rel
ated to the arithmetical properties and to the speed of mixing of the syst
em.\nI will present a short introduction to the subject and show how a gen
eral statement about the speed of convergence to equilibrium for systems w
ith contracting fibers can be applied to deduce the logarithm law for a cl
 ass of singular hyperbolic flows.\n\n
