DESCRIPTION:This will be an improvisatory workshop on improvisation that d
 raws on three key ideas: \n# what you have got\n# stimulus\, and\n# how yo
 u respond in the moment\n\n…which will be explored through playful story
 -telling and music. \n\n*Frances Shih* is a PhD student studying with Dr. 
 Pamela Burnard at the Education Faculty. She draws on her interests as a t
 eacher and pianist to study how improvisers understand a tune before they 
 improvise on it.  Having taught music in a secondary school for fourteen y
 ears\, *Jennie Francis* is studying meaning-making in music lessons.  She 
 also works as a seconded mentor for the secondary PGCE music course.
