DESCRIPTION:My talk will be an overview over my research interests and the
  work I have conducted since I started last October. My main research topi
 c is the inference of affective states from body motion. After introducing
  the process of motion capture I will present ways to process the data whi
 ch make it more viable for pattern recognition techniques. I will then dis
 cuss different approaches to complex action recognition from motion captur
 e data\, giving results from my experiments with multivariate HMMs.
