DESCRIPTION:Human Resources for (primary) health care in Africa is a major
  challenge. The problem is situated at different levels: recruitment\, tra
 ining\, retention. Different types of brain drain (internal\, internationa
 l intercontinental) threatens capacity building.  \nBased on findings from
  Primafamed-network (www.primafamed.ugent.be) and the work of the EU-FP7 H
 uraprim-project (Human Resources for African Primary Care: http://www.hura
 prim.ugent.be)\, a broader analysis of the human resources program\, espec
 ially in primary care will be presented. Moreover\, the impact of actions 
 coordinated by the team of Prof. De Maeseneer in the last 17 years will be
  illustrated. Finally\, an African-wide strategy will be advocated for. \n
