DESCRIPTION:The contemporary development of the technologies to support Pr
ecision Agriculture and Human Telemedicine has resulted in the availabilit
y of novel platforms for animal monitoring. In modern animal production sy
stems a requirement for automated animal monitoring in relation to health
and welfare as well as growth and performance will facilitate more precise
and efficient management of larger herds\, flocks and facilities with few
er personnel. The presentation will address the development and applicatio
n of sensors and systems for the remote monitoring of environmental variab
les\, animal behaviour\, biomechanical variables and physiological variabl
es in relation to animal welfare (and health) and how these may be integra
ted in to control and management systems. \n
