DESCRIPTION:One can associate to a line bundle a convex body\, called the 
 Newton-Okounkov body. This is an asymptotic version of the classical Newto
 n polygon associated to a polyno- mial in two variables\, introduced by Ne
 wton in 1676. The goal of this talk is to give a short introduction to the
  theory of these convex bodies and explain how positivity properties of a 
 line bundle can be read from the Newton-Okounkov bodies. As a consequence\
 , I will explain the connection between Seshadri constants and Newon-Okoun
 kov bodies.
