DESCRIPTION:The literature abounds with large tabletop display projects fo
 r a diverse range of applications\, from planning room layouts to sorting 
 photos. However\, surprisingly few projects have aimed to support reading 
 and discussing draft documents\, which is an important daily task for many
  workers.\n\nIn this talk I will begin with an overview of my research int
 erest in this area and outline the contributions I aim to make: a large hi
 gh-resolution tabletop display\; a supporting toolkit for mixed presence c
 ollaboration\; and a "virtual paper" interface to support reading and mixe
 d presence review meetings.\n\nI will then talk further about a recent tec
 hnique by Hereld and Stevens\, which aims to solve the problem of displayi
 ng small crisp text on a multiprojector display. I have improved its visua
 l performance\, created a fast implementation and found that users prefer 
 it over conventional techniques.
