DESCRIPTION:Since most interesting measurements at the LHC are indirect\,
the question of the role of theoretical modeling in the interpretation of
LHC measurements becomes more and more relevant. Increasing the theoretica
l precision is one way to reduce such uncertainties and make the interpret
ation of the measurements more convincing. Examples are high-precision sel
f consistency tests of the Standard Model (after all we are searching for
bSM physics!) and various more direct limits on the existence of New Physi
cs. Through examples I'll explain where we stand today\, compared to the r
ecent past\, as well as what can be expected in the near future in terms o
 f precision developments.
