DESCRIPTION:I consider the non-equilibrium time evolution (quantum quench)
of a class of pure states under the Hamiltonian of an integrable model. A
t late times after the quench\, the expectation values of local operators
approach time-independent values that can be described in terms of a stati
onary state. I discuss the essential features and the most common represen
tations of that state\, and present some recent results on global quenches
in the spin-1/2 Heisenberg XXZ chain. Finally\, I go into the issue of pr
e-relaxation in integrable models\, where the leading contribution to the
relaxation process of local observables is captured by a time-dependent ge
 neralised Gibbs ensemble.
