DESCRIPTION:Quantum systems carry an intrinsically quantum form of informa
tion\, which cannot be copied and allows much stronger control than classi
cal information. Special relativity also allows the flow of information t
o be controlled through the no-superluminal signalling principle. Togeth
er these have led to the emerging science and technology of relativistic q
uantum cryptography. I describe some applications\, including verifying
the location of a prisoner\, using quantum teleportation to fake anything\
, running a secure quantum casino\, guaranteeing trust in untrustworthy cr
yptographic device builders\, and using quantum theory to decline party in
vitations with guaranteed tact. I also describe the first relativistic q
uantum cryptographic experiment\, carried out recently by a Geneva-Singapo
 re-Cambridge collaboration.
