DESCRIPTION:Increasing limit of detection is a key aspect for Acoustic Wav
e Sensors\, a competitive technology for biosensing applications. Differen
t aspects should be taken into account to reach this goal. High frequency
resonators in combination with an appropriate platform which allows a care
ful control of different aspects involved in a biosensor experiment will p
ermit to increase the limit of detection by reducing the noise and taking
advantage of the increasing sensitivity of the sensor. In this presentatio
n recent results on a biosensor application using different acoustic techn
ologies are presented and compared with other techniques like SPR and ELIS
 A. A research platform was developed with the purpose of comparing the dif
ferent acoustic technologies under the same conditions. Classical QCM\, HF
FQCM and Love Wave acoustic resonators were compared and results have show
n that high resolution QCM techniques can compete with those established t
echniques. The presentation shows the efforts made in the last 15 years by
the group coordinated by Prof. Antonio Arnau Vives from the Polytechnic U
niversity of Valencia and his recent spin-off company Advanced Wave Sensor
 s (AWSensors).\n\nEveryone is welcome
