DESCRIPTION:When viscous fluid is injected in the gap between an elastic s
 heet and a rigid base plate\, the sheet peels away from the base at a spee
 d which depends on various factors. In this talk\, I will describe how to 
 model this problem mathematically using lubrication theory\, and how to so
 lve it using a matched asymptotic expansion. The method generalizes to yie
 ld over 50 different asymptotic solutions for spreading of viscous fluid u
 nder an elastic sheet.
