DESCRIPTION:We're delighted to welcome Dr Tony Bishop\, Co-founder and Dir
 ector of e-Go Aeroplanes - a Cambridge start-up formed to develop and manu
 facture advanced light aircraft.\n\nTony will be talking about the formati
 on of e-Go and how the small team got the company off-the-ground (so to sp
 eak). He will cover their story\, including the industrial design process\
 , how to market on a zero-budget and how they have gone about raising fina
 nce through crowd-funding as well as more traditional investment routes.\n
 \nThe e-Go is a futuristic light aircraft\, creating a new market in a hig
 hly competitive arena. It is exciting to fly\, but is also an aesthetic\, 
 ergonomic and very efficient single-seater plane. \n\nThe e-Go is being de
 veloped near Cambridge for world markets with the prototype aircraft curre
 ntly undergoing flight tests. The e-Go achieves a breakthrough in low weig
 ht and high performance using a combination of novel technologies. It is a
 lso being developed at remarkably low cost.\n\nThe project has been made p
 ossible with a combination of unusual design\, novel business model\, loca
 l F1 and aerospace expertise and world-leading UK de-regulation. The prese
 ntation will highlight some key aspects of the project including its marke
 t niche\, novel technologies\, the building of the e-Go community using so
 cial media\, the evolving business model\, and the impact of deregulation.
