 es is a fellow of Trinity College and his research interests involve: grow
 th cone repulsion which is an important mechanism controlling axon growth.
  During development it guides axons by excluding them from repulsive regio
 ns of the embryo. Following injury to the adult brain it may also block ax
 on regeneration\, with major clinical consequences.
