DESCRIPTION:The aim of this talk is to present a well-posedness result for
  the incompressible Euler equation with free surface. This is a joint work
  with Jean-Marc Delort. We prove a global existence theorem for the gravit
 y water waves equations with smooth\, small\, and decaying at infinity Cau
 chy data. We obtain moreover an asymptotic description of the solution whi
 ch shows that modified scattering holds.
