DESCRIPTION:Claire Weiller and Amy Shang are going to present their co-aut
hored paper on business models in electric vehicle (EV) industry. Claire a
nd Amy are PhD students in Cambridge Service Alliance and Centre for Inter
national Manufacturing. Both of them are working in the EV industry but fr
om different perspectives.\n\nTheir co-authored paper presents four innova
tive business models that are being developed in three countries to suppor
t the commercialisation of electric vehicles (EV). Using an original busin
ess model framework and interviews with EV company founders and directors\
, we analyse partnership strategies along the EV value chain (France and U
 S) and the coexistence of competing business models (China). Findings emph
asise the importance of designing flexible business models and leveraging
resources and inter-industry partnerships in the emerging EV ecosystem. Th
e results provide practical recommendations for industrial players and ins
 ights for policy-makers.
