DESCRIPTION:Lucy Cooke has research interests in the development and modif
 ication of children’s food preferences\; the impact of the family food e
 nvironment on children’s eating habits\; and the design of effective die
 tary interventions. Current research includes the POPPETS Study. The first
  part of this study is a large-scale community survey to assess the family
  environment correlates of healthy dietary choices in preschool children (
 including parental nutrition knowledge\, feeding practices\, social norms\
 , availability of foods\, meal patterns and snacking rules). The next stag
 e will include the development of interventions to modify aspects of the h
 ome food environment and assess their impact on food choices. Ultimately t
 hese will be combined to create an intervention that health professionals 
 can be trained to deliver.
