DESCRIPTION:Liquid foams are\, amongst other usage\, used to mitigate shoc
k waves during mine-cleaning operations due to their excellent ability to
absorb energy. However\, the origins of this important property are still
not well understood. We use a shock tube to send a shock wave on a foam sa
mple with controlled liquid fraction and bubble size. We record images wit
h a high speed camera and pressure signals through the sample\, giving inf
ormation about the wave propagation and attenuation\, the foam displacemen
 t and the destroyed area.\n
