DESCRIPTION:In the seventies Langlands has launched a program called Endos
copy which relies on the stabilization of the Arthur-Selberg trace formula
. In fact a variant of it\, called twisted endoscopy\, has become the main
tool to establish some cases of Langlands functoriality.\nBase change for
GL(2) was the first example.\n\nThe main technical obstacle being the cel
ebrated "Fundamental Lemma" is now a theorem. This allows for new results
by Arthur and others on classical and unitary groups\, but that are still
conditional to some work in progress by Waldspurger and Moeglin. The aim o
f this talk is to present a survey of these methods and results.
