DESCRIPTION:The analytic structure of a black hole encodes important infor
 mation about its thermodynamics. In this talk I'll describe the relation b
 etween monodromy data and the thermodynamic properties of the conjectured 
 description of black hole microstates by a 2D CFT. I'll discuss the extend
  of this evidence (both in favor and against the conjecture).
