DESCRIPTION:For the final installment for the Screen Media Group seminar s
 eries for Lent term\, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Rod Mengham (Univers
 ity of Cambridge) and the filmmaker Marc Atkins who will be speaking about
  their collaborations in the 'Sounding Pole Films'. Working in the faculty
  of English\, Dr. Mengham has worked extensively on 19th century British a
 nd American fiction as well as contemporary art\, fiction and poetry. Marc
  Atkins is an English artist\, photographer\, and filmmaker who has done a
  wide variety of impressive work including artwork for David Lynch\, Scott
  Walker\, and TV on the Radio.\n\nThis seminar presents a continuation of 
 the ongoing Screen Media lecture series Mnemotechnics and the Archive\, wh
 ich considers the ways in which individual\, institutional and social memo
 ries have been understood to relate to media forms that participate in the
 ir inscription\, subversion\, perpetuation and effacement.\n\n
