DESCRIPTION:Music is\, similar to language\, a complex system the percepti
on of which involves a variety of cognitive mechnisms. Many facets of musi
c cognition\, as we know today\, appear to be grounded in implicit knowled
ge which is aquired through mere exposure to music. In this context\, und
erstanding implicit learning may be crucial both for modelling music cogni
tion and addressing tasks of music information retrieval which rely on cog
nitively relevant methods. This talk will give an overview on (modelling)
music cognition\, and current research on implicit learning of musical str
 ucture.\n\n
