DESCRIPTION:In his recent “State of the Nation” address\, President Bu
 sh pledged to invest in alternative energy technologies such as bioethanol
  to replace petroleum.  Because the transportation sector\, unlike other e
 nergy-consuming sectors\, has remained almost completely dependent on petr
 oleum fuels\, it has gradually required an increased share of the petroleu
 m market.  Already\, the North American transportation sector by itself co
 nsumes more petroleum than is produced in the continent. This level of dep
 endency cannot continue indefinitely - Bioethanol can be used as a fuel as
  it comes from a renewable source\, and is carbon neutral. This talk intro
 duces the huge field of Bioprocess engineering of ethanol from corn starch
 .
