DESCRIPTION:Turbulent fountains form whenever the momentum of energetic ve
rtical releases of fluid are opposed by buoyancy forces. They occur in the
oceans and atmosphere\, and are utilised in the ventilation and heating o
f buildings. Recent advances in the understanding of these fountains will
be presented\; focusing on classifying their rich and varied behaviour\, a
nd examining fundamental scaling arguments which inform as to the fountain
 's bulk dynamics.
