DESCRIPTION:This seminar aims to share effective grant-writing practices a
 nd lessons for successfully communicating: (1) the value\, contribution an
 d relevance of your industry partnerships\; and (2) a compelling ‘pathwa
 ys-to-impact’ statement. In particular\, the seminar shares insights int
 o the ‘psychology’ of reviewers and review panels: what appeals to the
 m and what turns them off\, what is likely to make them recommend funding 
 and why they might urge a funding agency to turn an application down.\n\nE
 oin is the Director of IfM’s Centre for Science\, Technology & Innovatio
 n Policy. Eoin was one of the founding team that set up the Irish national
  research agency (Science Foundation Ireland)\, has helped run or particip
 ated in peer review processes for science & technology agencies in the UK\
 , Europe\, the US\, Asia and the Gulf region. Eoin has read more research 
 grant proposals and reviews than he cares to remember. Eoin is currently c
 o-authoring a book (with a former US National Science Foundation programme
  director) on ‘How to Write a Successful Research Grant Proposal’.\n
