DESCRIPTION:The speaker will examine the relationship between the written 
 transmission of the Samaritan Pentateuch in its manuscripts\, dating from 
 the 11th century onwards\, and its oral transmission in liturgical reading
 . The lecture will include a description of the phonology of the Samaritan
  Hebrew pronunciation and a discussion of its historical background.
