DESCRIPTION:*Abstract:*\nRaytheon is building a cyber eco-system of SMEs\,
  academia\, technology incubators and VCs.  An open and transparent collab
 orative culture of working is being encouraged to ensure agile\, innovativ
 e and dynamic solutions for the benefit of customers and the members of th
 e eco-system.\nThe presentation describes what has been built\, and the ap
 proach being taken. It will describe some of the mechanisms being employed
  to develop the eco-system including investments\, calls for research proj
 ects\, mentoring\, workshop events\, introductions\, etc.\nExamples of som
 e of the research responses will be shared along with general thoughts abo
 ut areas of interest.\n\n*Bio:*\nJohn started his career as a software eng
 ineer developing a variety of Computer Aided Design (CAD) programmes\, in 
 particular micoprogramme cross compilers\, high level logic simulators and
  Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) tools.  However\, the majority of his 40
  year career has been associated with defence and information security.  H
 e has worked for most of the major prime contractors\, but also set up his
  own small business centred on biometric authentication. He has provided t
 echnical and management consultancy on business strategy and mergers and a
 cquisitions (M&A).
