DESCRIPTION:The founding collection of fossils\, minerals and rocks of the
  Sedgwick Museum was made by Dr John Woodward in the late 17th and early 1
 8th centuries. Join Ken McNamara\, Director of the Sedgwick (and Woodwardi
 an) Museums\, as he examines how Woodward obtained his 9\,400 specimens an
 d discusses the role that Adam Sedgwick and other 19th century geologists 
 and collectors\, such as Mary Anning\, played in expanding the collection 
 to its present size of at least 1.5 million specimens.\n\nThis event forms
  part of Universities Week (9-15 June 2014).\n\nAdmission is by token\, 1
