DESCRIPTION:David Kaplan once suggested that propositions are not true or
false simpliciter\, but only relative to times. The kind of semantical fra
mework he offered – whereby propositions are only true relative to a par
ticular parameter of evaluation – has been the basis of various recent r
elativist proposals. This paper offers a critique of this Kaplanian strate
 gy.
