DESCRIPTION:Hypergraph states are multi-qubit states whose combinatorial\n
description and entanglement properties generalize the well-studied\nclass
of graph states. Graph states are important in applications such as measu
rement-based quantum computation and quantum error correction.\n The study
of hypergraph states\, with their richer multipartite\nentanglement and o
ther nonlocal properties compared to the graph\nstates\, has a promising o
utlook for new insight into multipartite\nentanglement. We report on recen
t results applying an analysis of\nlocal unitary symmetry to graph and hyp
ergraph states. In particular\,\nwe show how entanglement types can be det
ected and distinguished by certain configurations in the hypergraphs from
which hypergraph states are constructed. By way of introduction\, we prese
nt a brief survey of the method and results on local unitary entanglement
classification using an analysis of local unitary symmetry.
