DESCRIPTION:This seminar covers the experimental methods we have developed
  for studies of high strain rate (104^ s-1^) fracture and fragmentation un
 der uniform tensile loading.  Two main themes are covered\, firstly contro
 l over the stress state in the sample and secondly the initial temperature
  of the sample.  Preliminary results on Ti6Al4V are then presented and dis
 cussed.
