DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will discuss the spectral stability for the p
 eriodic traveling wave with constant vorticity.   We will discuss relation
 ships between stability of the traveling wave with respect to long-wave pe
 rturbations and the structure of the bifurcation curve for small amplitude
  solutions.
