DESCRIPTION:Disorder is ubiquitous in condensed matter systems and it has
proved to profoundly affect the transport properties. The main goal of our
experiment is to observe the inhibition of transport due to disorder in t
wo dimensions\, a phenomenon called Anderson localisation. However it requ
ires very low temperature and weekly interacting gases. In this talk I wil
l present the all optical production of a 39K BEC by directly loading a di
pole trap from the molasses. I will describe in details the gray molasses
technique that allows to load a high number of atoms in an optical trap an
d the procedure to achieve an efficient evaporative cooling to Bose Einste
in condensation. I will finish my talk by describing the short term perspe
ctive to observe coherent effects in the momentum distribution of a 2D dis
 ordered Bose gas
