DESCRIPTION:The Moral Psychology Research Group is delighted to announce o
 ur final event of 2014\, a dialogue between philosophy and neuroscience on
  self-control and its failures. The event will be chaired by Dr Benedetto 
 de Martino (Psychology\, University of Cambridge). It will be followed by 
 a wine reception.\n \nAbout the speakers:\n \nProf. Todd Hare is assistant
  professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich\, Sw
 itzerland. He is a neuroscientist and neuroeconomist investigating the neu
 ronal mechanisms of decision-making. In particular\, he is studying the im
 pact of factors such as stress\, social feedback\, and attention on both s
 elf-control and normative decision making.\n \nDr Lubomira Radoilska is Le
 cturer of Philosophy at the University of Kent and also affiliated to the 
 University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on developing an Aristotelia
 n theory of autonomous agency. Her recent monograph\, Addiction and Weakne
 ss of Will (OUP\, 2013) argues for an integrated account of these phenomen
 a as limit cases of autonomy.\n
