DESCRIPTION:World Vision International (www.wvi.org) and the Humanitarian 
 Centre present a talk on the future of humanitarian financing models.\n\nT
 he Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Task Team on Humanitarian Financ
 ing brings together a number of stakeholders from across the IASC membersh
 ip who have an interest in humanitarian financing. The objective of the Ta
 sk Team is to improve our ability to provide aid to those who most need it
  by reviewing the potential of the current funding architecture to respond
  to the evolving nature of humanitarian action. \n\nIn particular\, the Ta
 sk Team:\n\n 1. Supports coherence among multiple initiatives on humanitar
 ian funding and strengthen financing mechanisms and related tools so that 
 they are accessible to those able to use them effectively and rapidly in s
 upport of broader resource mobilization efforts\n\n2. Explores models to m
 aximize the current funding base and to secure additional\, flexible and p
 redictable funding streams for humanitarian organizations\, including by i
