DESCRIPTION:Lethal (2) giant disc (Lgd) belongs to a protein family that i
s present in all metazoans and involved in endosomal trafficking of transm
embrane and secreted proteins. Loss of its function results in the activat
ion of the Notch signalling pathway in a ligand independent manner. In my
seminar I will discuss in which endosomal process Lgd is involved\, which
other signalling pathways might be affected and how the Notch pathway is a
ctivated upon loss of function of lgd.
