DESCRIPTION:Professor Polly Arnold is the Crum Brown Chair of Chemistry at
  the University of Edinburgh. \n\nIn 2012 the School of Chemistry received
  the Athena SWAN Gold Award in recognition of its significant and sustaine
 d progression in promoting diversity and gender equality. \n\nAs winner of
  the 2012 Royal Society Rosalind Franklin Prize\, Polly was responsible fo
 r ‘A Chemical Imbalance’\, a short book and documentary film\, which t
 ogether celebrate female scientists and look at why women are still so und
 er-represented in STEMM.\n \nIt aims to highlight some of the persistent c
 hallenges still faced by women\, and hopes to contribute to the wider deba
 te about how we can progress towards equality.\n \nIn this Athena SWAN Net
 work event\, Polly will share her experiences of Athena SWAN and gender eq
