DESCRIPTION:Dr Mahajan will talk about about MIT's digital residential edu
 cation\, pedagogical features of digital tools that help learning\, and co
 llaboration.  He will discuss some specific questions about MITx\, and abo
 ut the open source tool NB that they have developed for collaborative work
 ing by students. \n\nDr Mahajan was formerly a fellow at Corpus Christi Co
 llege and lectured in the Cavendish Laboratory.  He is the author of two b
 ooks - on qualitative methods in mathematics for solving physics problems\
 , and on \nestimation methods of understanding physics (the basis of the e
 stimation evenings we run in Cambridge\, started by him).  He has been hea
 vily involved in e-learning on his return to Cambridge\, Mass. as well as 
 completing books. \n
